From your first appointment, we want to make sure you feel welcomed, at ease and as comfortable as possible. You can bring a chaperone with you. Minors need to be accompanied by an adult and in the treatment room at all times.

Before your Osteopathy treatment
Your Osteopath will look at body alignment, Joints and tissues in detail. Therefore vests, leggings or shorts are good pieces to wear. We always have spare shorts at the clinic.
In your first appointment you will be asked questions about your current problem, past injuries, operations, general health, sports and hobbies, other medical care and medication you are receiving.
The information you provide is confidential, securely kept for 8 years or 8 years after your 18th birthday for minors and not shared.
If we need to refer you to a GP or consultant, by law we now require your written consent.
Explanation, diagnosis and treatment
You will be asked to perform some simple movements (pain permitting) and we will assess your posture and mobility.
This will be followed by standard medical, orthopaedic, neurological and special tests to assess the health of your joints, tissues and ligaments.
An explanation of the findings and treatment safety will be discussed. Your treatment plan will take into account lifestyle changes and/or exercises, depending on your case.
You are a partner in your osteopathy treatment and are encouraged to ask questions at any time during the process.
Benefits and risks of techniques will be explained and alternatives proposed. You need to give your consent for the treatment.
